How does your website work? Are they all the cars you have in stock?

Our website acts as a price guide to help you find the car which suits your budget and ticks every box in terms of your requirements with all vehicles available on a 7-10 day turnaround.

We have kept vehicles sold in the past on there and kept up to date with current market prices.

The reason we did it was because our most commonly asked question is "What can I get for X monthly budget?"

No we don't.

The shortest deal we do is 24 months but PCP allows you to part exchange your vehicle at any time during the contract.

I live nowhere near your premises, is that a problem?

Not at all! All our cars come with free nationwide delivery.

I am looking for a car but have no clue what I want, can you help?

Of course. The best way to do this is to work backwards and ask yourself these questions.

  1. What will I be using the car for?
  2. What are its "must haves" in terms of features and size?
  3. Are the running costs of the car inline with my monthly budget?
  4. Which cars have I been in lately which I really loved and felt realistic in terms of my monthly budget?
  5. How much a month do I have to spend?
  6. Have I been on any test drives?

Once you have the above we can help you find the perfect car.

I do more than 30k miles per year, can you do a deal for me?

We can indeed although a regular finance option (HP) may be the best option. Get in touch for more info.

I like loads of cars but cant make up my mind, what can I do to break it down?

The best way to do this is to work backwards and ask yourself these questions.

  1. What will I be using the car for and is it practical?
  2. Are the running costs of the car inline with my monthly budget?
  3. Which cars have I been in lately which I really loved and felt realistic in terms of my monthly budget?
  4. How much a month do I have to spend?
  5. Have I been on any test drives?

Once you have the above we can help you find the perfect car and break down pricing.

I would like to put my car through my company, can this be done?

This is possible although we would need to gather some details on the company first as each lenders criteria is different as you can imagine.

New limited companies will generally need a directors guarantor in place.

Do you do cars on lease?

This is probably our most common question we get asked as people refer to PCP as a Lease.

Lease is officially the term used to describe Personal Contract Hire (PCH) which is used for new vehicles although most people refer to PCP as a Lease.

When in a Lease agreement you have no option to part exchange your vehicle or own your vehicle at the end, you just hand it back.

PCP works similar to a Lease where you can hand the car back at the end but it provides more flexibility with the option to part exchange your vehicle in at anytime and own the vehicle by paying the final optional payment at the end of your term (most commonly described as the Balloon payment)

Do you do brand new cars?

We don't do brand new but we can do nearly new cars with miles as low as 100 on the clock (ex demo's)

The cost saving from getting a car nearly new car as opposed to a brand new one is significant due to the amount of value the vehicle loses from driving off the forecourt.

I am after a car with a service pack and maintenance with tyre replacement included, can you do it?

Unfortunately not. That service is only available on new vehicles although we are working on service plans at the moment. Keep an eye out for more information.

Do you do cars with insurance included?

Unfortunately not. You would have to provide your own insurance.

If you are looking for a quote be sure to get in touch as we can recommend some great brokers.

If you don't stock most of the cars you sell where do you buy them from? How do I know If they are of good quality?

DB Automotive work in a similar way to all car dealers where we carry a healthy number of vehicles on site but like all dealers have access to thousands of cars all over the country from sources including main dealer overstock, car buying services, ex Contract hire vehicles, ex company cars and vehicles available in the trade.

All vehicles are fully health checked and undergo the same preparation work you would get buying a car from a franchise dealer. MOTs and servicing are all up to date prior to delivery.

When you receive your vehicle you will be presented with a pack which tells you the date of the cars last service and the date the next MOT is due (if applicable)

In today's market a business is built on reviews and we would like to think our reviews do the talking in the sense that no corner is cut to give you the best standard of vehicle on delivery.

How do deposits work? Do I have to pay one? Do I get it back? What would happen if I put more in than suggested?

All vehicles are available on a deposit you choose starting from zero. The deposit is not refundable as goes against your finance and not as security to the vehicle.

On each vehicle listed on our website once you click the monthly price it will take you to our flexible finance calculator where you can tailor the deal to your exact requirements.

As a rule of thumb each £1000 added or subtracted usually takes off or adds around £30 per month on the quote so it's all down to personal preference. Some people would prefer the money in their pocket and pay a bit more over the month whereas some people are focused on their monthly payments.

Can I hand my car back at anytime? I get bored of cars quickly.

The shortest deal we do is 24 months but PCP allows you to part exchange your vehicle at any time during the contract.

If you are looking to voluntarily terminate your car you must be over half way through the total amount payable to be eligible for handback.

How does your warranty work?

All cars from DB Automotive come with free 3 month warranty with the option to extend to 12 months.

We take pride in offering a high standard of preparation for all our vehicles with full health checks readily available.

Do you do cars with insurance included?

Unfortunately not. You would have to provide your own insurance.

If you are looking for a quote be sure to get in touch as we can recommend some great brokers.

Can I add any personal touches to my car like Black Wheels and Tints etc before it arrives?

You can indeed. We can do everything from Window Tints to Black Wheels and even full Body Kits.

This can be added onto your finance and will only very marginally increase the rate.

When looking at a car use this guide as a way of adding extras to your monthly payments.

Black Wheels + £8 per month from original price
Window Tints + £5 per month from original price
Colour Coding + £10 per month from original price
Full Black Pack (all of the above) £20- £25 per month
Body Kits (POA)

Is PCP the same as a Lease?

This is probably our most common question we get asked.

How does PCP work? Do I have to pay the balloon at the end?

PCP is the product over 97% of our customer take and the most common type of finance on a vehicle in the UK.

How PCP works is that you are paying off the money the vehicle is losing each month in value with a option to own at the end by paying the Final Optional Payment (known as The Balloon payment)

As an example

Car A is worth £15,000 in July 2018 and is estimated to be worth £13,000 in July 2020

The agreement would then divide the £2000 in depreciation plus interest over the 24 months and calculate the Final Optional Payment (known as The Balloon Payment)

At the end of the agreement you have three options

  1. Hand the vehicle back and walk away
  2. Part exchange your vehicle in for a new one (the most common method)
  3. Pay the Final Optional Payment and own the vehicle

PCP works similar to a Lease where you can hand the car back at the end but it provides more flexibility with the option to part exchange your vehicle in at anytime and own the vehicle by paying the final optional payment at the end of your term (most commonly described as the Balloon payment)

Can I claim the VAT back through my business?

PCP is a non vatable product so the price you see advertised is the whole amount. In terms of offsetting expenses against your business it is common for people to claim back the mileage at a cost per mile.

I am 1 year into a 4 year PCP with another company is it possible to change out smoothly?

We can certainly have a look at it. As it is very early into your deal you may need to have a deposit ready for your next vehicle to avoid any negative equity.

If a large deposit was paid on the vehicle you have now then it shouldn't be hard to get out of.

Get in touch for more info.

I am currently 2 years into a 4 year PCP can you help?

We can certainly have a look at it. One thing to note is people usually think this is the point where you can voluntary terminate an agreement due to poor advice from the person that sold them the vehicle.

To voluntarily terminate a vehicle you need to be half way through the total amount payable of the vehicle. If you had put down a large deposit initially then you may be half way through now.

I am now 3 years into a 4 year PCP, Can I just hand the car back and get a new one with yourselves?

More often that not yes.

To voluntarily terminate a vehicle you need to be half way through the total amount payable of the vehicle.

3 years into a 4 year PCP is generally the point where you are close to that stage.

My lease car goes back in 6 months so I am searching the market looking for a similar deal?

We can have a look at it for you no problem but one thing to bare in mind is that people get confused to what "Lease" is and more often than not mistake it for PCP.

A "Lease" or "Personal Lease" is officially known as Personal Contract Hire (PCH) and is used on brand new vehicles.

PCP is the product we sell but people commonly mistake it for a "Lease" although there are similarities.

Getting out of a "Lease" is a lot trickier than getting out of a PCP as you generally cannot part exchange your car in and to get out of it would incur hefty early termination charges.

If you had 6 months left on a PCP dependent on how long you took the deal over shouldn't flag up any issues as part exchange will be available.

I am considering changing my car but may be in negative equity. Can you help
